THY WILL BE DONE’S First T-Shirt design of 2009 Benefits The V Foundation for Cancer Research

Providence, Rhode Island (February 6, 2009) - based THY WILL BE DONE (Stillborn Records) has chosen an interesting way of bringing their newest T-Shirt design to the public – an auction with all the proceeds benefiting The V Foundation for Cancer Research. Listed on EBay January 31, and promoted only through the band’s MySpace, the shirt has already reached a bidding price of $105. The winning bidder will receive the shirt, and a signed poster.

“I’m absolutely shocked and humbled by the outcome of the auction,” comments vocalist J Costa, “and it’s not even over yet. Never in my wildest dreams did I expect the bidding to take off like it did. It truly reinforces the fact that the auction really isn’t about the shirt, it’s about making a difference, and I’m moved our fans care enough to support a great cause.”

Costa chose the V Foundation based on the findings of charitynavigator.org, a web site that shows the true percentage of non-profit organization’s fund allocation. “The V Foundation uses more than 94% of its total donations to benefit program expenses. That means the money goes where the money is supposed to go, not into the pockets of executives. Those are the numbers of an organization living up to its promise.”

“I’ve always tried to help out whenever or wherever I can. I realize when the auction is over this won’t be the largest donation ever given to cancer research, but it’s something larger than nothing, and every lit bit helps. At the very least, I hope people look at the auction, think about the cause, and remember the cause. Not everyone can afford $106 for a shirt, but having an awareness of a charity is just as important as donating to one.”

Anyone interested in bidding on the shirt can do so here.
